A facet of my ASD experience includes Synesthetic reactions. Synesthesia is a perceptual phenomenon in which stimulation of one sense leads to automatic involuntary experiences in a second, occurring at the same time. A person does not need to be on the ASD spectrum to have Synesthetic experiences. In this way, sound prompts visual responses.
Sound has a shared physical energetic aspect through waves and vibrations, that these works create a visual context for. By sampling and "glitching" these vibrations, transparencies are created where these instances take place. Sounds' relationship to music present an awareness of Time as it performs its effects. Albrect Durer prints provide source material and are Re-Mixed; in the same spirit a DJ re-mixes samples of music to create a new composition.
