A facet of my ASD experience includes Synesthetic reactions. Synesthesia is a perceptual phenomenon in which stimulation of one sense leads to automatic involuntary experiences in a second, occurring at the same time. A person does not need to be on the ASD spectrum to have Synesthetic experiences. In this way, sound prompts visual responses.
Sound has a shared physical energetic aspect through waves and vibrations, that these works create a visual context for. By sampling and "glitching" these vibrations, transparencies are created where these instances take place. Sound relationships to music add an awareness of Time; as it performs its effects. Albrect Durer prints provide source material and are Re-Mixed; in the same spirit a DJ re-mixes samples of music to create a new composition.
