A facet of ASD experience includes Synesthetic reactions. Synesthesia is a perceptual phenomenon in which stimulation of one sense leads to automatic involuntary experiences in a second, occurring at the same time. A person does not need to be on the ASD spectrum to have Synesthetic experiences. In this way, sound prompts visual responses.
Sound has a shared physical energetic aspect through waves and vibrations, that these works create a visual context for. By sampling and "glitching" these vibrations, transparencies are created. Sounds' relationship to music present an awareness of Time as it performs its effects. I sample Albrect Durer prints and re-mix them; in the same spirit a DJ re-mixes samples of music to create a new composition.
